Prescription Medication Addiction
CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta talks about prescription medication addiction:
"Every 19 minutes someone dies because of misuse of prescription medications.

Sometimes it is because they take too much. Many times it is because they forget or ignore the warning their doctor gave about combining the medications with alcohol. And tens of thousands of people die every year as a result.
As much attention as we pay to illicit drugs such as cocaine or heroin, the truth is prescription medications kill more people in this country than those illicit drugs combined.
Perhaps it is a perception issue: “It came from a pharmacy, therefore, it must be safe.”
They certainly can be safe, but they can also be incredibly addictive, with more than 1.9 million Americans hooked on prescription pain medications alone".

These numbers are shocking… I personally avoid taking prescription medications…not even over the counter meds like Tylenol and Midol. Ladies do some research there are far better solutions to that Midol.
A lot of these drug companies do not consider that the side effects are far worse than the actual problem. Remember that making money $$$ is far more important than saving lives.
And birth control is another thing to be on the look out for.

Now I am not saying that prescription medication can not save lives because I do understand that some people have medical conditions that require them to take these meds to stay alive.
For example in order for HIV/AIDS patients to remain alive they must take meds to keep their viral loads down.
I hope that one day we can find a cure for every disease and virus through nature. Until then we should learn to weigh the pros with cons before popping a pill.
