Proposition 37
Unfortunately, as we all may know Proposition 37 did not pass this in the recent election.

With my recent travels to California this past October I became enthused with the aim of those who support proposition 37. Local television channels and radio stations aired several commercials, it seemed to be the hot topic up for discussion daily. Although I am not a registered voter for the continental US, I would like to state that I would have voted yes to proposition 37.
For those of you who do not know what Proposition 37 is I've included some text from the
California Voters Guide website (voterguide.sos.ca.gov)
"Requires labeling of food sold to consumers made from plants or animals with genetic material changed in specified ways. Prohibits marketing such food, or other processed food, as “natural.” Provides exemptions. Fiscal Impact: Increased annual state costs from a few hundred thousand dollars to over $1 million to regulate the labeling of genetically engineered foods. Additional, but likely not significant, governmental costs to address violations under the measure."
